What makes Mamita’s Herbitas so Special?

At Mamita’s Herbitas we honor the symbiotic relationship woven between plants and humans.  We don’t just blend herbs, we are stewards of the earth; we grow, tend, and harvest the beautiful offerings our plant allies have to offer.

We acknowledge the plants as our ancestors and teachers, and recognize that the medicine held within the herbs strengthen when we are in relationship with the plants, beginning with the planting of the seed, and carried on throughout the growth of the plant, the harvest, and deepened with the intention that we put into making each herbal blend.  Each small batch is blended with love and intention while sacred fire burns, further deepening the prayer for the remedies and those whose hands they fall into.

Mamita’s Herbitas was born out of my desire to share the magic of the plantitas and their healing powers when I found solace in them after my own birth trauma.  I first started making herbal blends because I wanted to know exactly what I was putting on my baby.  I was then awakened to their full healing potential when the plants were able to help me, physically and emotionally, when I thought there was nothing left for me to do.  The more I played with the plants the deeper our relationship grew, it felt like a remembering, and I couldn’t believe these ways weren’t common knowledge, or standard care, especially for women postpartum.  I knew these remedies, these old ways, were a necessity in our culture, and I began gifting baskets full of herbal goodies for newly postpartum mamas in my community.  After 8 years of gifting out very lovingly crafted bundles, and with the encouragement of some dear sisters,
Mamita’s Herbitas was finally born.

When you purchase a product from Mamita’s Herbitas you’re not just supporting a small BIPOC women owned business, you’re supporting a whole community.  In congruence with the belief that these ways should be accessible to all, Mamita’s Herbitas continues to gift postpartum care bundles, among other remedies, to individuals who may otherwise not be able to afford them.  If you feel called to spread the love, please consider adding a bundle donation to your cart.

I hope you can find solace in the plants as much as I have, and feel the love and care that has gone into each of our creations.
